The Ranking System used here was designed by Avalon Development and is a subjective method of comparing mineral properties based on qualitative and quantitative information available in the public domain. The Red Dog(*) and Pogo(**) deposits are included in the comparison to underscore the fact that all methods of ranking mineral properties are based on information that is known, as opposed to what might actually be true but is presently unknown. As a consequence, neither Red Dog nor Pogo would rank high on a comparison scheme prior to their reserves being discovered. The moral? The current property rank does not necessarily have anything to do with the property's ultimate potential. Only the expenditure of effort and capital can determine the property's ultimate worth.
