through Friday 8 am - 5 pm | The
Avalon office is located in Fox, about 15 miles north of Fairbanks proper and
a 30 minute drive from the Airport. The office location is isolated; no hotels,
motels or restaurants in the immediate vicinity. If you are going to be working
at the office, pack a lunch. |

To Do When You Arrive | If
you arrive at the Fairbanks airport during normal office hours, call Avalon (907)
457-5159 and tell us who you are, what project you work for and we'll make arrangements
for your pickup or transportation to the office or local hotel. | | | If
you arrive after normal office hours, call Sue (907) 978-2640 or Ray (907) 978-3470
and they will attempt to coordinate a ride and/or over night accommodations. | | | A
Taxi will cost you about $80.00 one way from the Airport. Unless otherwise instructed,
don't take a taxi to the office. |

| Fairbanks
is situated in the interior of Alaska and because of this is often referred to
as the "Golden Heart" of Alaska. Fairbanks is a small "college
town" with a population exceeding 100,000. There are several miliatry bases
in the immediate area; namely Fort Wainwright and Eielson Air Force Base. With
the University of Alaska hosting both the nearby International Arctic Research
Center [IARC] and the Geophysical Institute, it is typically refered to as a 'college
